West Chester Liberty Weekly – Crumbl Cookies

Why can’t the weather be like this all the time? Man, these are ideal conditions for just about everything except ice fishing and I’m okay with that.

Emily and I both have sweet tooths but couldn’t be further from each other on the types of sweets we like. She’s an ice cream girl and I’m a pastry kind of guy. From donuts, cake, cookies, pastries, you name it, I’ll take those any day of the week over ice cream. Now, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy ice cream, especially our hometown cone, Graeters but something with some sweet buttery bread and frosting on the top? I could never pass that up.

We went over to Rally House after dinner last night to get June some merch for the upcoming football season. We bought her two really cute shirts, one of which was UC and one was Bengals. And yes, we can all sleep now knowing that Joe is back in pads slinging the pigskin around the field injury free. Only thing was, up until yesterday, all we thought was that Joe needed his appendix removed before it bursted and then Joe confirmed earlier this week that it had in fact ruptured prior to the doctor taking it out. Yikes! Glad he’s okay though.

But we ALWAYS get ice cream for dessert when we are out and that’s because I like to think I’m a decent husband and let Emily’s sweet tooth take precedence over mine. But I asked Emily if I could call an audible and get something more my style. We had not yet been to Crumbl Cookies so that was my suggestion. She wasn’t thrilled but she made out alright.

Crumbl Cookies has a pretty cool experience where you go up to a kiosk as you walk in and order what you want. Whatever you purchase is guaranteed to be made fresh and ever was it! I think we maybe waited five minutes then out come our cookies that must have weighed a pound each. Even I admit, I probably should have split one but what the hell, it was my first time and I feel like the stomachache should be part of the experience too. I ordered the carmal corn cookie and Emily ordered the chocolate chip. Still warm and just nice and ewwy gooey on the inside!

I would highly recommend a visit if you have yet to go. They had other flavors available like raspberry cheesecake, french silk pie, peanut butter blossom, and lemon poppy seed. I believe they change their menu weekly so I’m excited to see what else they will have. I can’t imagine they would go through fall without a pumpkin spiced cookie of some sorts? I know some of you are drooling hearing the words pumpkin spiced and have already had at least two pumpkin spiced lattes from Starbucks even though we are still over 80 degrees most of the day! I don’t blame you. I love pumpkin spiced lattes too!

Again, I’ve mentioned it before. Thank you all for all your feedback. I love to hear back from you all. One thing that more people have asked is for me to start grading these places we review, especially the food places, on a 10 point scale. I will gladly oblige.

Crumbl Cookies were really good but I wouldn’t say great. The ones we had were a little greasy and that’s about the only negative I’ll have on my end. They were warm, baked perfectly with soft insides and tons of flavor.

My grade:  7.8

Mike “The Pastry King” Weghorst
